As toilets go, they are one of the most important places in the household. Everyone needs one, everyone has one in their house – and who is to say that this critical place in the home must be spared the brush. As design goes, one of the first places anyone should be looking at is the toilet, or as more aptly put in other cultures – ‘the throne room.’ We wanted to keep this toilet looking fantastic and welcoming, yet modern and functional – a challenge nonetheless for us.
First – the light marble feature wall, an elegant feature. Next, we ensure that although we were given a small space, it remained functional in all respects as a toilet. The wall mounted cabinet, the mirror and the wash basin are all within easy reach of each. To give it that extra sheen and glow, we used a gold spray painted finish on the cabinet and contrasted that with a peppering of dark grey-tone wall tiles. Reflective surfaces, classy finish and warm lights – this has to be one of the most welcoming toilets ever.
