In appreciation of the contributions and efforts of the Chew Interior Design Family, we held our staff day in Universal Studios @ Resorts World Sentosa. Travelling to the southern islands of Singapore, we felt an impending sense of adventure as the iconic Universal globe drew closer within our sights.
Gathered together as one big family under the morning sunshine of Singapore’s all-year-round summer, we put on our postcard smiles against the backdrop of the Universal globe and snapped one shot for the picture books.
Standing at the crossroads of the various attractions, it was tough to decide between glitzy Hollywood, the wild safari of Madagascar, the epic proportions of the Lost World or the mystic land of Egypt. All in all, it was definitely a great day of fun ahead for the management team and staff of Chew Interior Design. Noticeably missing were our sales designer team, and as much as we wanted them to join in the day of fun, the show must go on at our showrooms. Resting our creative hats on our shoulders, we marched into the fantastical world of Universal Studios, the place where dreams are made of.
Those of us who enjoy wildlife in its comedic glory were entertained by the whimsical animated cast of Marty the Zebra, Alex the lion, Melman the Giraffe, and Gloria the hippo. Being the pampered domesticated “pets” of New York City’s Central Park Zoo, the wild animal instincts of Madagascar set the group up for a predatory adventure unlike anything they have ever experienced in their previous blissful captivity.
Getting caught up in the post-apocalyptic world where land is the most precious commodity, we put on our ponchos and dived right into the ride of our life. We survived the harsh and extreme living conditions of Waterworld, made up of floating junk and debris constructs, and live to tell the tale.
With the colossal statues of ancient Egypt towering over our heads, we were immersed in the ancient civilization of pharaohs and the Nile River. Running our fingers across the ancient inscriptions of hieroglyphics, we tried to decipher the mysteries behind the pyramids, obelisks and the ancient Egyptian system of medicine.
After being wowed by the immersive cities within the city of Universal Studios, we were all left with a sense of stepping out from a good movie. A movie in which we were the stars and cast of a big budget production. Without a doubt, we would give a rating of “5/5 popcorns” and would be looking forward to the sequel.
