Launched amidst much fanfare on 16/9/2011, the gallery turns the spotlight on experimental designs that fulfil both aesthetic and practical functions. The study, for example, boasts a tree-shaped bookshelf, exemplifying the term “tree of knowledge” while adding visual impact to the room. Equally striking is the dynamic kitchen set-up complete with LED lights and craggy angles on the ceiling and faceted island counter.
Beyond bold designs, the gallery also houses more subtle yet intriguing inspirations, including living areas with a puzzle of wooden strips on the wall to create texture, unusual angles in the ceiling for variety and a collection of unique furniture that dot each space.
Says Kim Da, “In displaying the unconventional, we hope to give visitors new ideas which they can adopt and adapt to suit their own homes.”
