Launched amidst much fanfare on 16/9/2011, the showroom turns the spotlight on experimental designs that fulfil both aesthetic and practical functions. The study, for example, boasts a tree-shaped bookshelf, exemplifying the term “tree of knowledge” while adding visual impact to the room. Equally striking is the dynamic kitchen set-up complete with LED lights and craggy angles on the ceiling and faceted island counter.

That ‘Feel Good’ Feeling

Post by Chew Interior Design | Comments Off

While there are many reasons why we do what we do – the love for art, working in unique spaces, creating something spectacular, transforming houses into homes, none of us here at Chew Interior can deny the feeling we get when our customers are happy. It’s the genuine buzz we feel when we know we have made a difference in someone’s life; it may even be just a small impact, but it really reminds us why we are in this business in the first place.

Mood Rings, Lava Lamps, Monkey Lights, Glowing Crystals. The human race is absolutely astounded by lights and colours and this phenomenon of ‘mood lighting’ has crept its way into even the most humblest of living rooms – transforming an ordinary living space into enchanting experiences. Recently, lighting giant Phillips collaborated with the top design companies and creatives in Singapore to create a breathtaking experience of ‘oo’s and aa’s’ – and of course, Chew Interior designers were on hand to show visitors our brand of magic.

Modern Simplicity Neutral

Post by Chew Interior Design | No Comments »

Achieving balance is one of the most important things in design. We had three objectives when tasked with transforming this kitchen. We had to affect a modern look that was not overdone. It had to be simplistic, basic, and functional – yet not losing form and beauty.  Not wild, nor subtle, this was a child that had to be tamed neutral – and thus the team when to work and created a work of natural art.

Eco Texture Zen

Post by Chew Interior Design | No Comments »

Zen is the feeling of inner peace and calm, a spiritual state where the heart, the mind and the soul connect upon a level beyond our states. Eco, mind you not just a word thrown in here, was used to connect to an idea of nature and responsibility. In the end, we had a natural feel to our toilet, one that created an inner peace and calm to whoever walked into its space and basked within its strangely soothing lights.

Contemporary Modern

Post by Chew Interior Design | No Comments »

As toilets go, they are one of the most important places in the household. Everyone needs one, everyone has one in their house – and who is to say that this critical place in the home must be spared the brush. Modern Minimalist

Back to basics, less is more. We kept this firmly within our minds when attempting to create a minimalist bedroom that did not spare that extra touch of class and beauty that we have come to make as part of our interior design D.N.A. Modern – using immaculate whites and earth tones for a warm room with contemporary design features. Minimalist – basic colours, classy touch of lighting make this a simple walk in the park.

Moving Between Worlds!

Post by Chew Interior Design | No Comments »

The city was just full of surprises. It was amazing! So many different exhibitions on urban civilizations came together in what can be called panache of sight, sound and breath taking creativity! Our designers were inspired by some of the unconventional designs in the Expo.

As we navigated the labyrinth of exhibits at the Shanghai Expo, things just got better and better as there was always something new around every corner! We were definitely inspired by the design concepts from each and every country, and would definitely make use of them in our designs here in Singapore!

Gathered together as one big family under the morning sunshine of Singapore’s all-year-round summer, we put on our postcard smiles against the backdrop of the Universal globe and snapped one shot for the picture books.
